I agree. Meyer’s vampire stories are pedestrian, and I simply do not get why they like eachother at all! He is distant and cold and even when he is declaring his love–it all seems somehow fake. I just want someone to tell me why she likes him? Or even why she would want to be a vampire. Maybe you have to read the books to get it and I haven’t. They are not characters with whom one would be empathetic. I keep waiting for the movies to be good. I want to like them but I find them empty, very empty. Even as fantasy I can’t buy into it. Mercy thompson (patricia briggs) or even Sookie Stackhouse are much better characters. I haven’t read the Charlaine Harris books either and I like the characters better.

The more articles I read about this case, the more I sense that no one is really taking this case seriously, because of the lack of originality in the books. I find that incredibly hilarious.
