LOP News: RSS Lesson
May 27th, 2009I want to take a minute to divert from normally scheduled programming of super awesome book reviews and book news events to talk about RSS feeds, specifically MY RSS feed.
Basically an RSS feed is a way for you to follow Letters on Pages (or any other blog) without having to actually check the page for updates. When you subscribe to the feed, the content is automatically, and magically, beamed directly to whatever service you use.
I happen to use Netvibes as my feed aggregator, but there are a lot of options out there. The most popular one is probably Google Reader, which can then be added to your iGoogle page.
I want to strongly suggest that you sign up for my RSS feed…and other blogs that you read with regularity. It will save you a lot of time to have everything come directly to you!
So PLEASE sign up for my feed…either through an aggregator or e-mail. You won’t be disappointed!
Oh…and tell your friends too!

I am only just now learning about this RSS feed thing. I signed up for yours. But I never remember to look at my google reader — I always just click the blogs on my blog roll, including yours.
Anyway . . .
I just posted a list of non-fiction prize winners. I thought you might be interested. Have you read any of these? If you decide to adopt this list, let me know and I will add a link to your progress report.
