Book News: Ugghhhhh
November 19th, 2008As a relatively intelligent person…this is offensive to me. ”Joe the Plumber” has a book coming out. From the LA Times:
Joe the Plumber, a.k.a. Samuel Wurzelbacher, landed on the national stage on Oct. 15, when John McCain brought him up during a debate with Barack Obama. The Ohio-based tradesman wasn’t planning on national stardom — if he had been, he probably would have renewed his plumber’s license — but he’s managing his time in the spotlight with an agent and a book deal. An amazingly fast book deal: It’s due on shelves on Dec. 1.
Also, over at unbeige.com they have a short story on it, as well as the AWFUL book cover that looks like it was designed by a 7th grade graphic designer. But the best part comes from “Joe” himself:
I am not going to a conglomerate that way we actually can get the economy jump started. Like there is five publishing companies in Michigan.
Nice grammar. Hopefully he writes better than he speaks!

*headdesk* When I think of all the talented writers who struggle to get book deals…this just boggles my mind. I hope he has a very good and very patient editor.

Someone is taking their fifteen minutes of fame a little too far. But I suppose its pretty common… look at how many reality TV “stars” have gone on to do something else completely shady just so they could be in the limelight for a little while longer?

I had no idea. But I should not be surprised at this news of Joe the P.
Certainly Sarah’s books will be next.
