Favorite Book Game: Business & Children’s
October 16th, 2008This went well last time…so here we go again. This time the categories are Business Books and Children’s books.
Business
I have read a lot of business books. A lot. But I think my favorite is Zapp! by William Byham. My dad gave this book to me to read a while ago and it is really good. Basically, it is about how employees can be energized (or Zapped!) or dejected (Sapped!). It’s kind of corny…but does a great job getting the point across. There are many other business books that I like too though.
Children’s Book
As I am sure you can imagine, I read a lot when I was a kid, so I am pretty sentimental books about some books. Sideways Stories from Wayside School is great (and I still own it). The Kid Who Only Hit Homers is awesome. The Encyclopedia Brown, Boy Detective books are wicked. But my allllllll time favorite book is Matilda by Roald Dahl. I have no idea why. Maybe I hoped I would be that smart some day. I love that book so much that I refused to see the movie when it came out in fear that I would get too upset.
Also…there was some book with Ska-Link-A-Lot or something like that? Anyone remember what that was?
What about you?

OMG, encyclopedia brown was the best. I still remember the way he solved some of those mysteries. That Civil War sword is a fake! It says its from the first Battle of Bull Run, but the date is before the Second Battle of Bull Run and how would they have known there would be a second battle there!
Sideways Stories was another favorite of mine. Boy I loved that book.

i had a couple faves in grade school. first and foremost the Danny Dunn series..you know, “and the homework machine” ..”and the fossil cave”,etc. I really liked those adventures. I also liked the Henry Huggins series…i was reading them when they were new (!) and couldn’t wait til the next one came out, like Beezus and Ramona. fun stuff!!! and evidently books DO impact you for life, as like Kim L., i still remember the plots too!! (p.s. by the way,how very clever of encyclopedia brown!)
