October 5th, 2008J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, is rich. Fantastically rich. $1.1 billion rich. With many more millions to come with three new Harry Potter movies planned. From Canada.com:
The Harry Potter author’s incredible earnings — equivalent to about $10 a second — are from the 375 million sales of the seven books in the popular children’s series, a percentage of revenue from the movie adaptations and spinoff merchandise, including toys and video games, according to financial bible Forbes.
Yowzers! $10 per second?!? Man, that dwarfs the measly $5 per second I make at my job. I think I need to have a talk with my boss!
