New LOP Feature: Book News
September 5th, 2008We’ve got a new feature here at Letters on Pages! A couple times a day (hopefully) I will post a book/reading/author related news story from somewhere in the world. I will link to it, quote a small section of it, and include my comments. I am hoping it will drive conversation in the comments…so please participate…tell me what you think about the article!

Woman Indicted for Stealing Phone Books
This is a funny one from FOX News:
Fifty-five-year-old Debra Gottrell is accused of storing the books in three Las Cruces storage units during a four-year period instead of delivering them as she was hired to do.
They say there has been no explanation for why she kept over 100,000 directories. But the best line of the story is:
A telephone listing for Gottrell was unavailable.
HAHAHAHAHA…now that’s a funny line! Maybe she was only stealing them because she was left out of the directory and took offense?!?
