Book News: Sarah Palin Book is Extremely Popular

September 7th, 2008

This morning I posted about Barack Obama books, so it’s only fair to post about the Sarah Palin biography that is taking a HUGE leap in sales since her VP nomination.  From Northern Star Online:

The book, written by Kaylene Johnson, is currently out of stock. It sits high above the list, beating books written about Obama and McCain.

I think that’s funny. The book has been out for six months, not really doing anything…then all of the sudden she gets nominated and the biography takes off!

From what I understand, it is totally biographical and says nothing about potential policy and stuff like that. But people love the next big thing…so they buy anything and everything to do with it for a while.

Tyndale is going to be copublishing this book, so expect to see plenty of copies in the next month. I think our version (with a new cover and some minor edits) is going to be in stores within the next 10 days or so.

Something about Palin rubs me the wrong way and I’m not sure what it is. I wonder if my opinion of her would be at all affected by the book (either positively or negatively). I wanted to read a book from each candidate this year, but I still haven’t gotten to the RFK book that I bought back in June…
