Book News: More E-Reader News

September 12th, 2008

From Sky.com (another British article about the Sony Reader):

Reading material for kids is mainly limited to menus, text messages and tarot cards. But as they all love gadgets, the E Reader might be a way of actually getting them to read.

These are the ridiculous words of British author Kathy Lette. Menus, text messages and tarot cards? I understand she is trying to be clever…but what about school books, or magazines, or blog posts, etc…

Any why tarot cards? Is there a large population of kids that read tarot cards? I don’t think I’ve met anyone who read tarot cards as a kid.

I say if you are going to use hyperbole…go all the way with it. Why not say Reading material for kids is mainly limited to menus, text messages, Ouija boards, Nazi propaganda, the complete writings of Joseph Stalin, and the credits from the Faces of Death videos.
