Favorite Biography: Winston Churchill’s Biography by Roy Jenkins. But you’d better have a dictionary sitting next to you as you read it.

Favorite Religious book: My Heart, Christ’s Home. Well, it’s more of a pamphlet, actually, but packed with meaning:

Favorite Biography: Luther the Reformer by James Kittelson. I don’t read many biographies, but this one was both engaging and informative.

Favorite Religion: God, Language, and Scripture by Moises Silva. Changed the way I read the Bible and how I approached learning Greek and Hebrew.

I saw this mentioned at Deena’s. I love book games and memes!! I answered on my blog, but my favorites in each category would be Amy Carmichael of Dohnavur by Frank Houghton and Changed Into His Image by Jim Berg. It’s hard to narrow either category down to just one favorite book!

Biography: I’ll cheat slightly on this, and say “The Puppet Masters,” by John Hughes-Wilson. It’s not a book about one person, but about many people: spies who have influenced the world. It is filled with many biographies of those throughout history who have contributed by way of intelligence, from the Bible to the current globalization of terrorism.

Religion: Any book or collection of sermons from Charles Spurgeon.

Biography: Oh, so many to chose from…but I’m thinking “Lost Boy” by Greg Laurie. Such a testimony to God’s redemptive love and power in a life surrendered to Him.

Religion: Oh, again, so many to choose from…The Beautiful Fight by Gary Thomas (closely tied with Crazy Love by Francis Chan)

biography…well, at the moment the one that sticks out is actually Autobiography of a Geisha which was not nearly as glamorous as Memoirs of a Geisha but was actually, you know, true.

Favorite biography–read it a long time ago, but it was deeply inspiring: “A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael” by Elisabeth Elliott. Amy Carmichael was a missionary in India and her life defines servanthood and total dedication to God. My favorite religion book is harder to narrow down. Anything by John MacArthur, Kay Arthur (got the ‘arthur’ theme going there). The book I’ve recommended the most ever is Billy Graham’s “Peace with God”. Written a while back, but the message is still the same.
