Man vs. Wild!!!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!
Hmmm…I should have prefaced that with something. You see, as a male, I must watch every episode of Man vs. Wild and Survivorman…both Discovery Channel TV shows that teach you how to survive if you get stranded on a desert island or lost in an Amazonian rain forest. These skills are VERY important for someone like me as I often travel to wild, unpredictable places. For example, this past week I traveled up to Dayton, Ohio…and I don’t think the hotel room had free high speed internet. How do people live like that? Oh…I went camping for a night when I was about 8…that was pretty rough. So, as you can tell, survival skills are of the utmost importance.
Actually…I just like to watch these guys eat bugs and start fires with two rocks and rain soaked bark.
Man vs. Wild: Survival Techniques from the Most Dangerous Places on Earth by Bear Grylls is basically a Worst-Case Scenario book on steroids. It is 249 pages of survival guides and pictures. The pictures are particularly awesome, like the picture of Grylls eating the meat of a dead zebra. Sweet!
In this book you learn how to survive in the desert, jungle, desert island, sub-zero, and mountains. You will learn how to navigate streams to get down river (not too hard), build an A-Frame shelter (harder), and how to catch a snake and eat it raw (gross and really hard).
If you like watching Man vs. Wild, I highly recommend getting this book. You will get to remember the episodes you have seen and learn even more stuff that hopefully won’t ever be useful in your actual life. But still…it’s a lot of fun!

i disagree with one statement–you are assuming you have to be male to enjoy watching survivor techniques. I am FEMALE and I ALSO say WOOO HOOO!! Can’t wait to read it!!
